Arjun Bijlani Brings Ganpati Bappa Home Says There Is Nothing Greater Than Getting To Serve Him Every Year

For television actor Arjun Bijlani, Ganesh Chaturthi is much more than a festival—it is a deeply personal tradition that he looks forward to every year. The actor was recently spotted at a Ganpati pandal in Mumbai with his wife Neha Swami and family as they arrived to bring Ganpati Bappa home. Speaking about the celebrations, Arjun opened up about his family's special tradition, his faith and why this time of the year remains his favourite.

Talking about bringing Bappa home once again, Arjun said, “It’s that favourite time of the year again—Ganesh Chaturthi—and we are bringing Ganpati Bappa home.” He revealed that Ganpati stays with his family for three days, during which they serve and worship the deity with immense devotion. For the actor, the celebrations are as much about family and togetherness as they are about faith.

Arjun explained that the arrival of Bappa transforms the atmosphere at home into a grand celebration. “He stays with us for three days, during which we serve Him with great devotion. Just like every year, it’s a grand celebration; everyone comes over, we have a great time, and then, after three days, the Visarjan takes place,” he shared. From welcoming guests to eventually bidding an emotional farewell to Bappa, the actor clearly cherishes every part of the tradition.

But behind all the festivities, Arjun has a simple wish this year. “My only hope is that the blessings Bappa bestows upon us every year continue this year as well,” he said. His words reflected the gratitude he feels towards the deity and his belief that Ganpati's blessings have played an important role in his family's life.

When asked about the theme for this year's celebrations, Arjun revealed that his home will be embracing a vibrant colour palette. “The theme for Bappa at home is ‘Red’,” the actor said. While the theme may bring an added visual touch to the celebrations, for Arjun, it is the spiritual experience of bringing Bappa home that matters most.

Asked about the most special moment for him when Ganpati arrives, Arjun gave an answer that went beyond decorations, celebrations or rituals. “The most special moment is simply that Bappa gives you the opportunity to serve Him year after year—the chance to bring Him home—and I don’t think there is anything greater than that,” he said. The actor also observed that more and more people are bringing Ganpati idols into their homes every year, reflecting the growing enthusiasm surrounding the festival.

Arjun's connection with Ganesh Chaturthi extends beyond his own home celebrations. He revealed that he makes it a point to visit Lalbaugcha Raja, one of Mumbai's most iconic Ganpati celebrations, and plans to continue the tradition this year as well. “These 11 days are very special to me because I have immense faith in Ganpati Bappa,” he shared, explaining why the festival holds such a significant place in his heart.

The actor also spoke with gratitude about the blessings his family has received. “God has been very kind, and His blessings have always been upon our family; that’s why this is my favourite time of the year,” Arjun said. His words capture the emotion behind his annual celebrations—a combination of devotion, gratitude, family bonding and the joy of welcoming Bappa home.
